VW has already started production of the car at its facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Buzz about the Volkswagen Tiguan has been at an all time high and it appears we might finally be close to its official launch. VW started production at its facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra last month, and this is the model with which Volkswagen plans to tap into the growing demand for SUVs in India.

Two variants - Comfortline and Highline will be available with various new features such as 17-inch wheels for the Comfortline and a slightly bigger 18-inch ones for the Highline. Both variants will run on a single engine - a 2.0-litre diesel that makes 143hp. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox and comes with an all-wheel-drive system with a separate off-road mode selector dial.
