Swedish car maker reveals the V60 estate prior to Geneva debut.

The car maker revealed the updated version of the V60 estate before its debut at the Geneva motor show. The image showcases the new design language of the new estate that follows the V90 and XC60.

This car uses the scalable product platform that is also seen on Volvo’s other new cars and SUVs. The V60 is 4,761mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2872mm. The estate is 117mm longer than the XC60 and lengthier by 98mm in terms of wheelbase.

The boot space on the new V60 is 529 litres with the rear seats up, this goes up to 841 litres with the seats folded down. This increase in luggage capacity has been made to meet demand from previous generation buyers. This move to increase boot space has led a big change in the design when compared to the older V90.

On the inside, the instrumentation and infotainment system appear to be borrowed from the XC60 and is a big improvement over the current generation model. The new V60 is expected to be revealed with five engine options – two diesels, two hybrids and one petrol model.

At present, there is no information on whether Volvo will bring the V60 to India or not.
