Volkswagen India has unveiled the Tiguan Allspace R-Line at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is the long wheelbase version of the standard Tiguan which is currently on sale in the Indian market since 2017. Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has been spotted several times as test mule in the country and it will replace the current model of Tiguan in India. It comes with a third row of seating which makes it a 7-seater model as compared to the present model of the SUV which is a 5-seater.
The bookings for the Tiguan AllSpace has started from today at all the company authorized dealerships. Mechanically, it will draw power from a new BS 6 compliant 2.0L petrol engine instead of the ongoing model's BS 4 2.0L diesel engine. The petrol engine will develop top power of 187bhp and peak torque of 230Nm while linked to a 7-speed DSG auto gearbox. The exterior styling and interior cabin are carried over from the ongoing model, save for a few subtle cosmetic updates. It is expected to launch before April 2020 in the Indian market as after that no new BS 4 vehicles will be allowed to go on sale.
