Volkswagen Polo and Vento Facelift Version To Be Launched on 4 September

German maker Volkswagen is in the process of testing the facelift versions of their Polo hatch and Vento sedan since quite some time and now there are reports on the internet stating that the company will soon launch the refreshed versions of the cars. The reports state that the launch of these two vehicles will take place in the Indian market as early as 4 September, which makes the event less than a week away. There are already several spyshots of the two vehicles doing rounds on the internet and these give us a fair idea as to what the upcoming models from the brand will look like.

The changes one can expect on both polo and Vento from Volkswagen are likely to be aesthetic in nature and a few feature upgrades, if any. There are hopes that the entry level hatchback from the brand and the sedan both will get a front end design that will be inspired by the higher priced Volkswagen Polo GTI. The front grille on both the vehicles will come with a honeycomb pattern line and chrome work in the lower area. There are also expectations that a dual tone version (blacked out roof) will be offered by the brand but the dual tone version may only be offered with the higher trims of the cars. The Polo and Vento facelift will also get rear spoilers that will enhance the sporty look of both the cars. Other additions include sporty bumper inserts in black and side skirts.

Coming to the changes one can expect at the rear, the rear will not be that heavily inspired from the GTI variant. As far as the wheels are concerned, the company may offer the refreshed version of cars with a new set of alloy wheels. As already mentioned, one can expect the cars to come with an improved set of features so as to face the rivalry in the market in a better manner. The safety equipment on the cars will also receive an update with inclusion of front seat seatbelt reminders, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system. The interiors are not expected to change in a major manner but one can safely expect a few minor tweaks here and there to keep the cabin fresh.

Coming to the mechanical aspect of the upcoming facelift version of cars, while the company is in process to localize the BS-VI compliant 1L turbo petrol engine in India the same will not be offered as of now. There are hopes that the facelift version of Polo for now will come with the 1L naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.5L diesel engine. The petrol engine is rated to deliver 75 Bhp and 95 Nm while the diesel engine has an output of 89 Bhp and 230 Nm. The Polo GT variants will come with the 1.2L turbo-petrol engine rated for 103 Bhp and 175 Nm and the 1.5L diesel engine rated for 108 Bhp and 250 Nm. The Vento too will come with the older 1.6L petrol, 1.2L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel engines. Although these engines will have to be updated in future to be BS-VI compliant.
