Volkswagen has revealed the performance version of the Golf GTI, the TCR

The German carmaker is known for its pocket rocket hatchbacks in the GTI lineup. Volkswagen has now introduced the VW Golf GTI TCR, which is a street legal version derived from the racing car. Volkswagen has positioned the Golf GTI TCR between the Golf GTI Performance and Golf R.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 290 PS. This amount of power is amazing for a hatchback this size. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. 0-100 km/hr acceleration takes 5.6 seconds while the top speed is 260 km/hr.

The cosmetics are specific to the GTI TCR that comes with front splitter, side sill extensions, roof spoiler, diffuser, 18-inch wheels, black side mirror caps, LED headlights, front-axle differential lock and perforated brake discs. Buyers can also customise this car by opting for better suspension, dampers, tyres, etc. It is priced at €38,950 (Rs. 31.56 lakhs) in Germany.
