A mid-sized premium sedan Tata Peregrin will be based on Tata Altroz.

Tata Motors have been working on a mid-size sedan, codenamed Tata Peregrin for quite sometime. It is expected to be launched sometime next-year and it will be competing against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna Facelift. A new rendering image of this upcoming sedan has been released on the internet. The image shows the possible design.

Tata Peregrin will be developed on the ALFA modular platform, that underpins the Altroz premium hatchback and the upcoming HBX micro SUV. It will feature the new-generation IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The design of the sedan is likely to be inspired by Tata’s E-Vision Concept electric sedan that was debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

The front fascia of the sedan is expected to look like the Altroz. It will feature a slimmer grille with 3D humanity line, sleek headlamps with LED DRLs, sportier bumper, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Other highlighted features include Harman sourced music system and a panoramic sunroof.

Mechanically, Tata Peregrin is expected to come with both petrol and diesel engine options. While the 1.2-litre turbocharged motor is expected to churn out 118 bhp power and 170 Nm torque, the diesel unit might come with a 108 bhp and 260 Nm, 1.5-litre unit.
