Royal Enfield has filed a trademark for the 'Scram' moniker in India. It is being believed that the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc scrambler motorcycle could be christened as Scram. Presently, the trademark registration status reflects ‘Formalities Chk Pass’. As of now, there is no word on the styling and features of the new bike as it has not been spotted even once during the road tests. It has been learnt that Royal Enfield is working on three 650cc motorcycles which includes a roadster, cruiser and a scrambler.

There is no word on how the upcoming Royal Enfield 650 Scrambler will look like but a basic idea can be drawn from some of the modifications carried out in the past on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. If you search on the internet, you can find several such modification projects being done by independent aftermarket professionals and needless to say, they received praise by one and all. Well, the possibility of this being one of the reasons why RE is working on a 650cc scrambler motorcycle can't be ruled out either. Some of the notable features of Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor modified into a Scrambler are circular headlamp, higher ground clearance, dual purpose tyres and upswept exhaust.

The Chennai based brand has already made it clear that all the upcoming 650cc motorcycles will use the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in order to lower down the cost of production. It would be powered by a 648cc air cooled parallel twin engine which produces top power of 47bhp at 7150rpm and peak torque of 52Nm at 5250rpm. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. We expect Royal Enfield to offer dual-channel ABS as standard safety feature while the suspension setup could be in the form of standard forks upfront and dual monoshocks at the rear. Royal Enfield had earlier announced that it will launch 28 new products by 2027.
