Upcoming Motorcycle Launch

India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market. There are so many people who are eagerly waiting for the launch of their dream bike, be it the most accessible ones or the exotic ones. There are a number of two-wheeler launches that should have happened by now or were planned for around this time of the year. Due to the coronavirus lockdown, the whole automotive industry came to a standstill. Now with the Government easing the restrictions, many automakers have resumed their operations in strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the authorities. They are also introducing new products to keep the sales numbers on track.

Here is the list of upcoming bikes that are likely to be launched this month

Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Royal Enfield is gearing up to replace the Thunderbird 350 with Meteor 350 Fireball. The company had trademarked the name 'Meteor' last year. The test mules of the new Meteor 350 wrapped in camouflage have been spotted in the past. It was rumored to be launching in India in May 2020 but got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, it will now be launched towards the end of this month. The new Meteor 350 will be more expensive than the Thunderbird 350 but it’s reasonable considering the addition of new features and accessories. In terms of features, it gets a new set of alloy wheels apart from the halogen headlamp with LED DRLs. The bike also gets a split seat setup but the seat profile and height remain the same. It uses a double cradle chassis that has been developed with the help of Harris’s performance, the company’s performance partner. Under the skin, it is likely to debut an all-new BS6 compliant engine equipped with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and an electronic fuel-injection system.

The upcoming motorcycle has already been listed on the company official website. It is likely to be launched this month. The motorcycle takes its design and styling cues from the Xtreme 1.R Concept. As for features, it offers an aggressive full-LED headlamp with a short visor above it. It gets a high-rise tail section along with smoked-out LED taillights and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock suspension at the rear end. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, the bike features reflective sidewall strips and a sporty single-unit step-up seat. Mechanically, the Xtreme 160 R will draw power from a BS6 compliant 160 cc, single-cylinder petrol engine with fuel-injection and SOHC setup. The engine will bell out 15 bhp power and 14 Nm torque.

TVS Victor BS6

TVS Motor Company is gearing up to upgrade the Victor motorcycle to meet the BS emission norms. It was being speculated that the company will discontinue Victor 110 and it will not be updated to the BS6 emission norms. But now the bike is likely to be launched sometime this month. The BS6 Victor will retain the design and styling of its BS4 counterpart. However, one can expect new color options. Under the skin, the BS6 Victor is likely to be powered by a BS6 compliant 109.7 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that currently powers the latest iterations of the Star City+, Sport, and Radeon. Due to the shift from carburetor to fuel injection, there is likely to be an increase in the price.
