He is currently overseeing the state relief work as UP, along with the entire nation, deals with the Coronavirus pandemic. Today, Yogi Aditynath celebrated his 48th birthday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishing him through Twitter. The UP CM is no stranger to the limelight as clad in a saffron robe he is quickly becoming the favourite of people of Uttar Pradesh.
It’s time to talk about the different cars Yogi has at his disposal. He recently rejected the request from the state estate department of purchasing two Mercedes Benz SUVs for him and his official fleet. Keeping in mind the austerity measures taken so far, the UP CM purportedly saved at least Rs 5 crores. Mercedes Benz GLS 350D
Yogi Aditynath has the first Generation Mercedes Benz GLS 350 D which the former CM Akhilesh Yadav had acquired during his tenure from 2012-2017. The new Mercedes-Benz GLS comes in two variants - GLS 350d 4Matic diesel and the 450 4Matic turbo petrol. The BS6 2.9-litre inline diesel engine belts out 281bhp of maximum power and 600Nm of peak torque. The petrol-powered GLS 450 is powered by a BS6 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine with 362bhp of peak power and 500Nm of peak torque. Both the petrol and diesel variants are coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive system as standard.
Toyota Innova
Toyota Innova is one of the popular MPVs in the Indian market. State Governments across India deploy Innova due to the reliability and low maintenance costs. The new Innova Crysta is available with a BS6-compliant 2.4-litre diesel or a 2.7-litre petrol engine. It can come with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. ARAI certified mileage stands at 15.1kmpl. Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 MPV base variant is priced at Rs 15.66 Lakhs while the top-end model is now priced at Rs 23.63 Lakhs.
Toyota Fortuner
Toyota Fortuner is a big machine and is often spotted in Yogi Adityanth's convoy. The SUV churns out 169 bhp of top power and 260 Nm of peak torque thanks to the 2987 cc 6-cylinder diesel engine. On June 4, Toyota Fortuner facelift was revealed in Thailand. If Yogi government decides to go for a new SUV, it would be a nice addition to the fleet.
