The first phase will kick off in Delhi and Hyderabad.

Mahindra & Mahindra will collaborate with Uber to supply Electric Vehicles in India. The company will deploy hundreds of e2o Plus hatchbacks and eVerito sedans to Uber, which will first use them in Hyderabad and Delhi. They will then move on to different cities post the pilot project.

This alliance will also include insurance, maintenance and financing. The companies will also collaborate with public and private players who will be setting up common-use charging ecosystem across multiple locations in India, according to a statement by Mahindra.

Jayem Automotives and the country's largest cab aggregator, Ola, made a similar agreement to supply Nano-based electric cars. Jayem will give the first batch of 400 Neos to the taxi aggregator once the car is launched. In 2016-17 electric car sales in India stood at 2,000 units, which was a meager 0.07 percent of total passenger vehicle sales (3,046,727 units), but this figure is expected to rise dramatically thanks to the government’s push for electric mobility.
