TVS Motor Company has introduced ABS with the Apache RTR 160 4V FI version. This is a single channel ABS system which has been introduced with the FI version only, whereas the carburetted version with ABS will be launched soon. The Indian bike maker has priced the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ABS at Rs. 98,644/- (ex-showroom), which is Rs. 6999/- more than the regular version.
The elder siblings of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V have got dual-channel ABS and the 160 is the first member of the family to get single-channel unit. TVS is gearing up to update their lineup with CBS and ABS system to meet the stringent safety norms from April. Until then, the Indian bike maker will continue to sell non-ABS version of this bike.
Apart from ABS, there are no other changes done to the bike. Powering the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is a 159.7cc, oil cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of 16.8 PS at 8000 RPM with a peak torque of 14.8 Nm at 6500 RPM. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
