TVS provides free upgrades to Apache RR310 owners.

There were reports that TVS was offering free upgrade to customers of the bike. Reportedly, the Indian bike maker had been reaching out to the customers and was informing them about getting the bike upgraded totally free of cost. The customers can choose to get their bike upgraded during its regular servicing or can visit the dealership and have their bikes upgraded absolutely free of charge. Now reports have come up that shows the kind of changes made to the bike and also details the new things added to the bike.

We can see that company in its bid to make the Apache RR310 run more smoothly, has made quite a few changes on the bike. The most vital and perhaps the biggest change or upgrade on the bike is the update given to the ECU. In order to give the riders more lo-end torque in the traffic prone areas, the company has gone ahead and mapped the ECU to provide the riders with more pull on the lower revs of the engine. The company has also changed the handle dampers on the bike and replaced these units with the heavier and bigger units that aim to absorb a lot of handle vibrations on the bike.

As mentioned in the earlier reports, the company has also changed the chain rollers on the bike and the company states that this new unit will not only lead to lesser wear and tear, this also reduces the sound of the chain by quite a bit. The windshield of the bike also gets rubber pads just below the instrument console, which blocks air coming from ahead. The customers have been reporting that the recent changes have surely dampened a lot of vibrations on the flagship TVS bike, while the lower revs also feel a lot more powerful on the bike, hence increasing the traffic drivability of the fully faired performance bike.

Apache RR310 competes with bikes such as KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the market. However, at a relatively affordable price. While the acceleration provided by the 313cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve reverse inclined engine (34 PS-27 Nm) of the bike indeed does put a smile on the face of the riders, rivals on outmatch it several fronts. TVS also tried to play up the track discipline of the bike by emphasizing the longer swing-arm and shorter wheelbase of the bike offering better handling. Combine all this with the hype that TVS built around the bike, and the Apache RR310 lost the game on expectations front as it left the customers wanting for more. Not to say that fierce competition from KTM and Kawasaki etc. made the life for the bike tough in market.
