The Model H SUV gets a driving range of 1100 kilometers with power output of 1500bhp.

Triton Solar, the New Jersey-based electric automaker, has unveiled the 8-seater all-electric Model H SUV. The bookings for the SUV has started at a token payment of $5,000 which is nearly Rs 4 Lakhs. The company has equipped the Model H with a large 200 kWh battery which returns an exceptional driving range of more than 1100 kilometers. In addition, Tritan has also introduced the Founder's Edition of the SUV which will only be limited to the first 100 units. The customers have to pay $135,000 (Around Rs 1 Crore) by wire transfer in the next five days after securing their booking for $5,000 for the Model H Founder's Edition.

"Triton Model H is now open for pre-orders on our website www.tritonev.co. The first 100 pre-order customers will be delivered the Founder's Edition, which shall have unique surprise features added on top of the standard features. In the life span of the Triton Model H, only 100 Founder's Edition versions will be made. The booking will completely be on a first-come-first-serve basis," said Himanshu Patel, CEO, Triton Solar. The Model H will come with a towing capacity of 6985 kgs while powered by four electric motors - one at each wheel - with maximum power output of 1500bhp. The SUV will do a 0-100kmph sprint in merely 2.9 seconds while an all-wheel-drive system will come as standard. This project has been in development for the last 18 months.

In the last one year or so, the Triton Solar engineering team officially started work on Model H while multiple international partnerships were announced for the same. Though, we still do not have a word on the launch date and production site. In fact, the website also doesn't look too promising so the possibilities of a marketing gimmick cannot be ruled out either. The official website states that the in-house batteries with the Model H are better than anything else. "Triton Solar batteries which are half the size & half the weight compared to all available batteries across the globe," said the company. The SUV has a wheelbase of 3302mm while it comes with a 10 year warranty or 150,000 miles (Around 2.40 Lakh kilometers), whichever comes first starting from the delivery date.
