Toyota Urban Cruiser to launch on 23rd September 2020, it is basically a rebadged Maruti Vitara Brezza

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is launching its Urban Cruiser in the Indian market on the 23rd of September 2020. Ahead of the launch, the Japanese automaker has roped in Bollywood Star Ayushmann Khurrana to be the brand ambassador of the Urban Cruiser. Earlier, the actor was Nissan India's ambassador when they launched the Datsun Go in the country. Now after this announcement, he will be part of Toyota’s digital and print campaigns for the upcoming Urban Cruiser. This SUV will mark the advent of Toyota into the popular and competitive subcompact SUV segment. When introduced, the Toyota Urban Cruiser will rival the likes of Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon in its segment. Bookings for the vehicle have already begun since the 22nd of August 2020 at a token amount of Rs 11,000. Toyota Urban Cruiser is basically a rebadged Maruti Vitara Brezza and the second model after Glanza to be based on a Maruti Suzuki Model. 

Customers who are pre-booking Toyota Urban Cruiser before the official launch will get a no-cost periodic maintenance benefit for up to two years or 20,000 kms. Talking about the performance, the Urban Cruiser is powered by a BS6-compliant, K-series, 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre petrol engine. The SUV will belt out 105 bhp of maximum power output with 138 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options available here would be a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. It will be offered in 3 variants - Mid, High and Premium. Toyota Urban Cruiser is expected to be priced in the bracket of Rs 8 lakhs- Rs 12 lakhs (ex-Showroom, India).

The Bollywood star shared his thoughts on his endorsement with Toyota Urban Cruiser. Therefore, I love the idea of ‘respect’ being the mantra of the Urban Cruiser.
