News Highlights

  • Toyota S-Presso will get a revised front fascia
  • The micro-SUV will sit below the Urban Cruiser
  • Toyota Urban Cruiser is all set to launch later this month

The collaboration of Toyota and Suzuki started off in India with Maruti Baleno which is now available in the market as Toyota Glanza. The brands further worked together in creating a crossover product called Urban Cruiser which is similar to Maruti Vitara Brezza.

Toyota has always been known for its premium appeal. The Innova Crysta has been the brand’s best selling vehicle in India. With this rebadging exercise, The Japanese automaker will be able to establish its presence in the new market segment while Maruti Suzuki will be able to enhance its volume. However, Suzuki will benefit from its partner’s expertise in hybrid powertrain technology. Talking about the small car segment, Toyota might not want to explore anything below Glanza. By doing so, it will have a major effect on Toyota’s brand image. But there is no harm in imagining what Maruti S-Presso will look like with the Toyota badges?

A speculative rendering of Toyota S-Presso has been revealed by Rushlane. As per the rendering, the S-Presso looks different due to a few cosmetic changes. The car gets a new front grille with a Toyota badge along with body-colored bumpers.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the cheapest car in India as it is priced at Rs 3.70 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom). This mini SUV is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine. If Toyota plans to launch the S-Presso in collaboration with Maruti then it will be the cheapest car in the company line-up.

Talking about Toyota’s version of the Vitara Brezza crossover, it is known as the Urban Cruiser while expected to be launched later this month. Bookings have already been commenced at company dealerships and the official website of Toyota India. The car gets slight revisions on the front fascia in terms of design in order to align with the family identity. The rest of the design elements remain the same.
