Tata Tigor To Come With AMT Gearbox on Two More Trims

More trims of the Tata Tigor with AMT automatic gearbox have been launched in the market. Tata Tigor locks horns with Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire in India. For now, the AMT automatic gearbox will only be available with the petrol engine of the sedan. Earlier the company offered the AMT variants only with the XZA trim of the sedan but now the company will offer the automatic transmission in two more variants of the model.

The new trims to receive the AMT gearbox are XMA and XZA+ trims, the prices for the two have been set at Rs. 6.39 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi and Rs. 7.24 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi respectively. This makes the two options from the company some of the most affordable automatic sedan options in the market as of now.

Talking of the petrol engine on the two options that will come with the choice of an automatic AMT gearbox. The two trims come with the 1.2L 3-cylinder REVOTRON petrol engine rated to deliver 84 Bhp and 115 Nm. This is the same engine that the company also offers on its best-selling Tiago hatchback in the Indian market.

On the occasion of launching the new AMT automatic variants of Tigor sedan, the vice president of sales, marketing and customer support in the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit (PVBU) at Tata Motors, S N Barman stated,

This strategy also includes continuously expanding and strengthening our automatic portfolio. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the perfect combination of practicality and convenience these new additions have to offer.

Apart from the new automatic gearbox options on offer the two trims XMA and XZA+ will also comes with new paint options. These options will be Egyptian Blue, Roman Silver, Espresso Brown, Berry Red, Pearlescent White and Titanium Grey. Moving on to the safety features on the two trims, this will include twin airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed alert, seat belt reminders and ABS+EBD as standard.

The new trims from the brand will also be feature loaded with the presence of features like a Harman music system with Bluetooth, foldable rear armrest with cup holders, 24 utility spaces for storage, and anti-stall and crawl functions for the AMT gearbox. However, the expensive trim XZA+ will additionally offer a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an 8 speaker sound system by Harman, 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, and auto-fold wing mirrors with integrated LEDs.
