Tata Motors in a joint venture with Jayem Automotives came up with Jayem Tata Performance (JTP). This will be the performance division of Tata that will see more powerful version of Tata cars. Some of the first cars to be launched from this division will be the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. Both these cars were showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and gathered quite a lot of attention.
The Indian automaker is all set to launch both the performance oriented cars in this festive season. This means, the cars will start reaching dealerships starting from next month followed soon by the launch. Both the Tiago and Tigor JTP versions will get sporty cosmetic changes and a new engine for increased performance. We can expect the prices to get dearer by Rs. 1 lakh.
The JTP editions will come with sporty looking bumpers, diffuser, dual exhaust, black roof, red panels and 15-inch alloy wheels for the sporty stance. The ground clearance will be lowered for better handling. There will be only 1 trim on offer for both Tiago and Tigor JTP that will get powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol 3-cylinder engine that produces 110 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 150 Nm of torque at 2000-4000 RPM.
