The 90’s nostalgia is back with the unveiling of the Tata Sierra EV concept at the Auto Expo 2020. Tata has showcased the Sierra as an EV concept in an attempt to get a share in the mid-premium crossover segment. Tata Sierra was a big hit in the ’90s and remains a cult product for many automobile owners. Hence, by reintroducing Tata Sierra as a new-age concept with 3 doors and fresh interior design, Tata has announced its arrival at the Auto Expo 2020 with a big bang.

Let’s see some interesting 5 facts about Tata Sierra-

Unique 3 Door Concept

As we all are aware of the fact that the 1990s Sierra boasted of an unique three-door (two sides, one rear) setup. Tata Motors hasn’t disturbed the same setup and carried on the 3 door concept in the new EV concept. The Sierra EV concept will have no rear door on the right-hand side, while we can observe a sliding rear door on the left side with a cleverly hidden glass area and B-pillar.

Based on Altroz’ Alfa Platform

Lightweight, modular and flexible are the defining characteristics of the Altroz Alfa Platform and the Tata Sierra EV concept SUV is based on it while carrying the 90’s Sierra signature display in style like the curved rear side windows. But we see a different design where the windows wrap all the way around and it’s a glass canopy.

Front Fascia Reworked

The front end has a wide profile with a sweeping bonnet structure with shiny and smooth LED headlamps with the brawny bumper section. If we observe closely at the front side, the concept EV narrows down into the tall and raked windshield with the A-pillar given a black treatment.

Fully Electric

Tata Sierra EV is fully electric and there is no option for either petrol or diesel. The details of the electric powertrain haven’t been disclosed yet but we could be assured of one simple fact that Tata Sierra EV will send power to all the 4 wheels effectively.

Stylish Design

The Tata Sierra EV concept boast of large wheels with off-road tires for a great SUV experience and square-shaped wheel arches given a black treatment. The tail section will have a strip of thin LED tail lights running across the vehicle’s width and Sierra name will be written below it.

As we can guess from the above Tata Sierra fascinating features and design, it’s launch will help Tata gain a foothold in the electrical vehicle market.
