Tata Safari is all set to be launched on January 26 in the Indian market

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Safari on January 26th in India. The homegrown automaker recently released a teaser image on its social media handles. The image revealed captain seats in the middle row which further gave us a hint that it might be a 7-seater SUV. Now more details about the SUV’s Connected Car Features and Telematics have been leaked online. 



As per the information leaked online, the telematics package of the SUV is divided into five categories namely safety & security, remote commands, alerts & notifications, over-the-air updates, and health checks. The 2021 Tata Safari’s dashboard will house an 8.8-inch infotainment system that will come with an embedded sim and a plethora of connected features like remote lock/unlock, remote lights on/off, remote control of headlights & horn, find my car, and location-based services like geo-fencing and valet mode.

The safety & security features comprise an unauthorized car access alert (Intrusion alert), and SOS SMS to an emergency contact in case of an accident.

You can even share your location and get it tracked live. Furthermore, the SUV will get smartphone-enabled functions that can be accessed through the Tata IRA (Intelligent Real-time Assist) app. These functions include critical car parameters (including battery-related alerts), speed alerts, time fencing alert, idle alert, panic notification, what 3 words, view trip details & provide drive pattern analytics with Driver Score, view car health dashboard, and locate the nearest TML (Tata Motors Limited) service station/RSA. Get custom messages (such as "Happy Birthday") on the cluster and socialize with other Tata car owners through the gamification function. 




Talking about the iRA, what 3 Words, and ConnectNext, they have a validity period of 1 year. They can easily be downloaded free of cost from the Android play store or IOS app store.

The New Safari is likely to house a BS6 compliant FIAT-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 170 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox onboard.
