Tata’s H5X SUV will be called. Harrier.

The production version of Tata Motors’ H5X SUV will be called the Harrier. The company will make an official announcement sometime next week.

The company is currently working on improving its sales network ahead of the model’s launch in India. The Harrier could go on sale in the first half of 2019 and Tata Motors is planning to give its dealerships a premium touch, with a possible ‘special area’ to showcase the H5X (and future premium models).

The H5X made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo and based on spy pictures, it looks like the design will stay largely true to concept and the model will retain the high-set LED headlights.

The SUV will be the first Tata created using the company’s new Impact Design 2.0 design language and will be built at Tata's plant in Chakan, Pune. A 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune is expected to do duty and the car will be sold in five- and seven-seat configurations.
