Tata Motors has hiked the prices of the Nexon by upto Rs 11000 depending on the variant. The compact SUV now falls in the range of Rs 7.30 lakh - Rs 13.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Besides increasing the price, the homegrown automaker has dropped select variants from the SUV’s lineup. 


Talking about the price hike in detail, the base XE petrol trim of Tata Nexon gets a minimal hike of Rs 1000. While the XMA(S) variant sees an increase of Rs 10,500 in its price. The top-end diesel XZA+(O) Dark Edition gets the maximum price hike of Rs 11000. However, petrol variants like XZ+, XZA+ Dark, XZ+ Dark, and diesel trims like XM(S), XZ+ remain unaffected by the price hike. The automaker has further discontinued four diesel variants - XMA, XMA(S), XZ, and XZA+(S) of the Nexon compact SUV. 


Tata Nexon boasts of a plethora of features. These include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto & Tata’s iRA connected car technology, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a fully-digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, among many others. The compact SUV also offers multi drive modes namely Eco, City, and Sport.

Performance-wise, Tata Nexon comes equipped with two engine options. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine churns out a top power of 118 bhp and a peak torque of 170 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel unit, on the other hand, generates 108 bhp power and 260 Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Moving on, the Nexon rivals the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
