Tata Nexon EV was handed over to MCGM officials by Aditya Thackeray - Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment, Government of Maharashtra

Tata Motors has presented one unit of the Nexon EV to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). Being regarded as one of the most decorated civic bodies in India, MCGM has received the Nexon EV as part of Tata's tender agreement with EESL. The key of Tata Nexon EV was handed over to MCGM by the Honorary Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment for the Government of Maharashtra - Mr. Aditya Thackeray, in the presence of Mr. Iqbal Singh Chahal – Commissioner, MCGM, Mr. Sanjay Bansode – Cabinet Minister, Government of Maharashtra and other government dignitaries in an event held in Mumbai.


Maharashtra EV Policy 2021

Maharashtra EV Policy 2021 was announced a few weeks back which included a slew of benefits for the buyers on the purchase of electric two wheeler/three wheeler and four wheeler. The state government announced that all the electric vehicle owners will be exempted from paying road tax and registration fees. The state will provide a subsidy between Rs 1.75-2.75 Lakhs to an individual on the purchase of electric cars while electric two wheeler owners will get benefits worth Rs 29,000 - Rs 44,000. In addition, the entire state government fleet will be converted to electric from April 2022. The 2021 Maharashtra EV Policy also proposed to provide property tax rebate on the installation of private charging stations in housing society premises.


Tata Nexon EV

Tata Nexon EV is powered by a powerful and high-efficiency AC motor with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. It returns an ARAI certified driving range of 312 kms on a full charge. The all-electric SUV is offered in five variants namely XM, XZ+, XZ+ LUX, Dark XZ+ and Dark XZ+ LUX in a price range of Rs 13.99-16.85 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Some of the notable features in the Nexon EV are electric sunroof, projector headlamps, leatherette upholstery, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, smartphone app for remote vehicle monitoring, automatic climate control system with rear AC vents, leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel and reverse parking camera.
