In November last year, Tata had wheeled out the 150,000th unit of the Nexon

Tata Nexon has achieved a new production milestone as recently the 2 Lakhth unit of the SUV was rolled out from the Ranjangaon facility in Pune. In November last year, Tata had wheeled out the 150,000th unit of the Nexon from the assembly line at the Ranjangaon plant and it has taken even less than 6 months to produce the next 50,000 units of the SUV. Tata Nexon ranks in the top 3 best selling compact SUVs in the Indian market while it is also the first car in the country to receive a full 5-star adult safety rating by Global NCAP.

Tata Nexon had accomplished a new sales record in March 2021 with 8,683 units being retailed in that month. It is presently available in a total of 20 variants which includes 12 variants in petrol and 8 variants in diesel with automatic and manual transmission options. Recently, the company had rejigged the Nexon range by discontinuing a few diesel variants such as XE, XMA, XZ, and XZA+ (S). Tata Motors authorized dealers are also not accepting bookings for the aforementioned variants. The brand has been silently carrying out subtle cosmetic updates in the Nexon range in the country as last month, it changed the existing V-shape alloy wheel design to 5-spoke and units with the same were spotted at a dealership.

In April 2020, Tata Motors had also removed the six physical buttons below the AC vents which were meant for operating the touchscreen infotainment system. The company integrated these buttons in the touchscreen unit itself. In fact, the knobs on the centre console were also deleted. In addition, the Tectonic Blue paint scheme was also discontinued. Though, it refrained from making any mechanical changes as the Nexon continues to be powered by a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine. The former delivers power output of 118 bhp and torque performance of 170 Nm while the latter belts out 108 bhp and 260 Nm. The transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox with both the engines.
