Tata Motors will hold World Premiere of 4 vehicles at Auto Expo 2020, which would later be launched in India.

Tata Motors has been the 'showstopper' at almost every iteration of the Auto Expo with its surreal range of products being on display at the biennial event. And, this time too, it appears that it is going to be no different as the home-grown automaker will showcase a staggering line up of 26 products, out of which 12 will be from its passenger vehicle portfolio including 4 World Premieres while 14 will be from the commercial vehicle segment.

Talking about the 4 global unveils, Tata Motors will present the production ready H2X SUV, Tata Altroz Electric, Tata Gravitas (H7X) and the BS6 version of the Harrier with sunroof and automatic gearbox. In addition, the entire product portfolio of the company including the recently launched Altroz hatchback and the facelifted versions of Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor and Tata Nexon (EV) will be on display. Let's talk about the 4 global debuts taking place at Auto Expo 2020 from Tata Motors in detail:

Tata H2X aka Tata Hornbill

Tata Motors had unveiled the H2X also known as Hornbill at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in a Concept form and now the company is all set to present it in the production-ready avatar at the Auto Expo 2020. Based on the Alfa-Arc architecture and adorning the IMPACT Design 2.0 language, it will be positioned below the Nexon while directly taking on the likes Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100. It is being learnt that it will share over 70 percent elements with Tata Altroz with a launch scheduled in the later half of this year. It will draw power from Altroz's BS6 compliant engines with an option of an AMT gearbox as well.

Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas is essentially the stretched version of Harrier with an extra row of seating to accommodate a couple more occupants. The 7-seater SUV will be unveiled at Auto Expo 2020. The design, equipment list and engine will be shared with the Harrier while pricing is expected to be in range of Rs 15 - Rs 19 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Tata Gravitas aka H7X will lock horns with the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and the yet-to-be-launched 6-seater MG Hector.

BS6 Tata Harrier

Tata Motors has been teasing the BS6 version of Harrier SUV from the past few days on its various social media platforms as it is all set to debut on the grand stage of Auto Expo 2020. The BS6 Tata Harrier will also get a few added bells and whistles in the form of an automatic gearbox, sunroof and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The company will introduce a new dual-tone red and black color scheme with the SUV. There is buzz that a 'Tyre Pressure Monitoring System' might also make its way into the BS6 Tata Harrier. Mechanically, it will use the same 2.0 litre Kyrotech diesel engine, albeit in compliance with the BS6 emission norms.

Tata Altroz EV

Tata Motors will also unveil the all-electric version of Altroz at the Auto Expo 2020, which is expected to go on sale within the next 12-18 months in the country. It will use the Ziptron battery pack and the same electric motor as the Nexon electric SUV which was launched last week. The power and torque figures are also expected to be similar with a driving range around 300 kms. The company might make a few cosmetic updates in order to distinguish it from the regular Altroz. Tata Altroz EV price could start from Rs 10 Lakhs with no direct competitor at the moment.
