Tata Harrier has stayed in the headlines ever since it was launched in the market at the beginning of this year. The fresh design of the SUV along with futuristic looks, a feature packed premium feeling interior and a very alluring price tag means that the SUV has been very popular in the market. The prices for Tata Harrier start at Rs. 12.69 lakh, ex-showroom.
Now there are reports that Tata Motors has updated the touchscreen infotainment system of the Harrier. Since the Harrier is not a ‘connected’ SUV, the update is being patched at the service center of the carmaker and is not an over the air update. It means that the customers will have to take their vehicles to the service centers in order to get their touchscreen infotainment units updated. As far as the changes in the new update are concerned, the latest and the first update to the 8.8-inch floating-type infotainment system of the Harrier brings Apple CarPlay support to the system. To let you know, at the time of launch, the infotainment system of Harrier supported Android Auto, Aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and the absence of Apple CarPlay was pointed out in many reviews. However, the latest update to the infotainment system seems to have taken care of the problem as the Apple CarPlay connectivity is now present in the Harrier. The new version of the software is Q5_R09.02.
