News Highlights

  • The new XZS variant sits between the XZ and the top-spec XZ+ trim
  • Tata Harrier XZS trim costs Rs 35000 less than the range-topping XZ+ trim
  • The Harrier XZS misses out on a few features offered in the XZ+ variant

Tata Motors has silently launched a new XZS variant for the Harrier. Having said that, the new trim falls in the price range of Rs 19.99 lakhs - Rs 21.59 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new XZS trim will sit between the XZ and the top-end XZ+ trim. Moving on, it comes packed with additional equipment over the XZ trim. Also, the homegrown automaker is offering dual-tone color options on the XZS trim along with the Dark Edition theme. The waiting period for this new addition to the Harrier line-up will be around 30 days. While other trims have a delivery timeline of around 10 weeks. The main aim to introduce this new XZS trim is to bridge the price gap between the XZ and the top-end XZ+ trim.

The new Tata Harrier XZS variant gets a few features that were exclusively present on the range-topping XZ+ trim. These include a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, adjustable lumbar support, and an auto-dimming IRVM. However, the new variant misses out on front ventilated seats and iRA-connected car technology.

Besides these, other standard features include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a 7-inch TFT instrument display, an 8.8-inch touchscreen unit, wireless Andriod & Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear knob, and air purifier. The safety kit of the new trim consists of 6 airbags, cruise control, traction control, hill-hold control, off-road ABS, ESC, rain-sensing wipers, and hill-descent control.

Performance-wise, Tata Harrier XZS gets both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle draws its power from a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre engine that churns out a top power of 168 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm.

Tata Harrier rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Mahindra XUV700, MG Astor, MG Hector, Volkswagen Taigun, and Kia Seltos.
