The festive season is currently underway with new launches and arrivals already making news in the Indian automobile market. Tata Motors isn't behind as it is expected to be planning a New Limited Edition Harrier launch to coincide with Diwali festive spirit. Recently, spy shots of the Limited-Edition Tata Harrier Camo have surfaced on the internet indicating its imminent launch. The Camo Edition of the SUV will be sold for a short span of time and in limited numbers. The homegrown manufacturer had earlier filed for a trademark under the name Harrier Camo. As we wait for the official launch, it’s time to know more about the upcoming Tata SUV. In terms of pricing, expect a premium of Rs 30,000- Rs 40,000 over the standard Harrier SUV which currently retails at a starting price of Rs 13.84 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Tata Harrier rivals against the like of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 among others in its segment.

Tata Harrier Camo is expected to be offered in 6 different variants namely XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+, XZA, and XZA+ according to the leaked information online. Do not expect the XE AND XM trims to make an appearance in this limited edition. Further the model would not be much different from the standard Harrier being sold here and we can expect few exterior cosmetic tweaks and new colour schemes. Thus the upcoming SUV will come with standard features like LED tail lamps finished in piano black colour, dual-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof and electrically powered ORVMs. Moving on-to the interior, the cabin will boast of features like an 8.8-inch infotainment system with 9 JBL speakers, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted controls, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. Further, Indian buyers can look forward to a 6-way electrically powered driver seat, reverse parking camera with sensors, push-button start, rear AC vents among many others.

There won’t be any change in the powertrains. Limited-Edition Tata Harrier Camo will be powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The same unit powers the standard Harrier model in India. It will deliver 167 bhp of power output and 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be taken care by 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.  The SUV will come equipped with safety features like 6 airbags, ESP, Hill Hold Control and Descent, ABS with EBD, Electronic traction control and so on.

This isn’t the only limited-edition model to make its way to the domestic market with Tata Motors filing trademark for Tiago Camo and Tiago Dark recently. Tiago is the most affordable hathcback in the automaker product line-up in the country. Also, Tata Harrier 4WD drive is reportedly under development and expected to arrive in India in the first quarter of 2021.
