Tata Harrier 'Dark Edition' Variant Details Leaked Online

After performing splendidly in the mid-size compact SUV segment, lately Tata Harrier has been having a tough time in the Indian market. Perhaps the slowdown in the auto industry and the renewed rivalry with the arrival of feature loaded MG Hector has led to the fall in sales of Tata's latest SUV. The future of the SUV from Tata is also full of challenges as the Kia Seltos is scheduled to be launched this month and it is yet another feature loaded proposition for the market and it also comes with a plethora of options in the engine and transmission department. Perhaps this is the reason why the maker is gearing up to launch a new Dark Edition of the Harrier in the Indian market. However, ahead of the launch, the details of the upcoming Dark Edition of Harrier have leaked on the internet.

The upcoming Dark Edition of Harrier will only come with cosmetic changes and as per the name suggests the main theme of the variant will be the colour black. Tata does not offer the Harrier in black shade in the market as of now but this will change with the arrival of the Dark Edition of the Harrier SUV. The colour black naturally lends an imposing look to any vehicle on the road and it does even more so when it comes to the SUV segment.

The shade that the Dark Edition of Harrier will come in has been named Atlas Black by the company. One will get to see the black treatment all around on the SUV. The exteriors of the SUV will come with blacked out 17-inch alloy wheels and a “Dark” badging on sides of the SUV. The headlamps will also come with grey bezels and the door handles will also get the all-black treatment. The front and rear skid plates that come with metallic finish in normal version of Harrier will come with a black look in the Dark Edition of the Harrier.

The interiors of the Harrier Dark Edition will also come with cosmetic changes. These will include the interior theme of the SUV getting a Blackstone Matrix shade, and the seats will come with Benecke-Kaliko Blackstone covering. The door pads will also come with the same material that will lend uniformity to the cabin of the Harrier even the door handles of the Dark Edition will come with Blackstone leather coating and they will be perforated units. The Tata Harrier Dark edition will be based on the XZ variant. One can expect the visual changes of the Dark Edition to add Rs. 20,000-30,000 to the price tag of a regular variant. As already stated the Dark Edition will only come with aesthetic changes and the mechanicals will remain the same. The Dark Edition will still come with a 2L KRYOTEC engine rated to deliver 140 PS and 350 Nm.
