At a motorcycle event in Pune, SWM (Speedy Working Motors) showed its first offering for India. The bike is currently undergoing homologation and could be launched in our market by June or July, 2018.

The company was first founded in 1971 in Italy and it made enduro, trials and motocross motorcycles. The brand had to shut down in 1983 because of financial trouble, but Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer Shineray in 2014 recently bought and revived the brand.

In India, SWM will be sold by the Kinetic Group under the Motoroyale brand. Brands that are covered under this umbrella also include MV Agusta and will soon include iconic British brand Norton. The Superdual T comes here as a CKD from SWM’s plant in Italy and the Kinetic factory will handle assembly. There are two variants on offer, the Superdual T, which is more road-focused, and the Superdual X, an off-road version. The company will look at launching the Superdual T first and you can expect a price tag of around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
