The all-new Suzuki Jimny will be launched in 2018.

Spy photos showing the Jimny in production show that the car is nearing its global unveil. The photos were possibly clicked in the trial production phase. The car will most probably debut at a global motor show next year, possibly the 2018 Geneva one.

Like the earlier Jimnys, the New Car will be similar in size. For now, we only have images of a three-door hard-top version but a larger five-door model and soft-top variants will also be part of the line-up. Suzuki has stuck to simple and retro styling with the new Jimny.

The spy pics also show that the car will be available with a touchscreen infotainment system as well as automatic climate control. The new Jimny will be powered by a host of engines, including a 660cc turbo-petrol, the 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol and a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol motor.

In India too, the Jimny is a popular car, it’s sold here as the Gypsy, and it has been a popular choice for the armed forces for over 20 years. There’s no confirmation on when Maruti is planning to bring the car here.
