Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door version expected to arrive in 2021 in India.

Suzuki Jimny is a popular choice for automobile enthusiasts who are into off-road campaigns. Suzuki has produced Jimny and Jimny Sierra for the Japanese and the International markets since 1970. The success of the off-roader SUVs can be gauged from the fact that over 2.85 million units were sold in 194 countries till September 2018. Suzuki Jimny is a capable vehicle in itself but everyone loves to tweak their vehicle once in a while. We came across a very interesting modification of Suzuki Jimny in Japan. DAMD, an automobile customized workshop in Japan, offers aftermarket support for the rugged off-roader. DAMD produces a custom-body kit for the Jimny called ‘little D’.

You can buy the ‘little D’ body kit as a whole unit or buy the individual components. If you buy the whole body kit, you can opt for ‘WILDBOAR’ wheels. You can also go for the Dean Cross Country wheels even if you don’t buy the whole package. D Kit transforms the stock car with modifications like a new hood cover, mud flaps, new front and rear bumpers, new front grille and custom badging. The owners can also go for a new seat cover as well as a number plate relocation kit. The relocation kit is available for both a stock vehicle and the body.

The body kit transforms the Suzuki Jimny into an old generation Land Rover Defender.  The modified version sports a green-coloured Oval ‘little D’ badge, similar to the Land Rover logo. The hood further gets ‘Little D’ lettering lending aggression to the transformed Jimny.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny made its first appearance in the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2020.  Rumours are swirling of a 5-door Jimny launch in the Indian market, it’s termed as a successor to the Maruti Gypsy. We can expect the Maruti Suzuki Jimny price to be between Rs 7-10 Lakhs. If we talk about the expected engine specification, the Jimny will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The Jimny will deliver 100 bhp of power and 130 Nm of peak torque with the engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. We have to wait and watch in regards to the technical specifications of the Indian variant.
