Suzuki Gixxer Sports: First Look

After teasing its fans for what can be said an excruciatingly long time, Suzuki recently launched the Gixxer SF 250 in India. This fully-faired motorcycle has been priced at Rs. 1,70,655. Immediately after the launch, rumors started flying around that the Japanese auto giant also has plans to launch a naked version of Gixxer SF 250 in the country. To add fuel to these rumors, now the images of this much-anticipated motorcycle have also surfaced online. Suzuki at present is offering the 150-cc variant of Gixxer in India and it is also due to get an update in near future.

The images show the front tire section as well as side angle shot of the tank, saddle, sides, instrument cluster, and handlebars among other details. The bike can also be seen donning a black and silver shade similar to the silver color option offered on Gixxer SF 250. The instrument cluster will feature the same digital seen on the fully-faired version of the motorcycle.

Coming to the engine, the Gixxer 250 will be powered by the same 249-cc, BSIV single-cylinder, oil cooled, SOHC engine used in the faired sibling.

This engine produces 26 Bhp power at 9000 rpm and 22.6 Nm peak torque at 7500 rpm. It is mated with a 6-speed gearbox. However, in naked version, the engine response and gearing ratios are expected to be tweaked for a slightly better performance. Due to absence of any fairing, the Gixxer SF will be slightly lighter at 161 kg.

The front fender, forks, and the rim design will also be similar to the Gixxer SF 250. Both motorcycles will feature the same cycle parts as was the case with the 150-cc Gixxer series. The naked motorcycle will get full LED front headlights but the layout will be different from the faired version. One major change that the bike will get will be in the form of riding triangle. Suzuki will alter the foot-pegs and handlebar position to make the riding stance more relaxed and comfortable.

If reports are to be believed, Suzuki will launch this bike before the end of 2019. It will be priced lower than the Gixxer SF. Anything around Rs. 1.5 lakh and we believe that Suzuki will have what it takes to make it a best-selling product in the market.
