The new 150-cc segment bike is priced at Rs. 1,00,212 in Delhi.

Japanese manufacturer Suzuki has rolled out its latest motorcycle Gixxer 155 facelift in India. The new 150-cc segment bike is priced at Rs. 1,00,212 in Delhi. This means the new model is significantly costlier -- Rs 12,000 to be precise -- than the outgoing variant that is priced at Rs. 88,390 in the national capital. While the new bike is based on the same design language as the previous model, it carries several new elements like LED headlamps among others. So, it is technically the same bike as the recently-launched Gixxer SF but without faring and a few other minor changes.

Coming to design, the Gixxer 155 gets the same rims, tires, and discs as the faired version of the motorcycle. The biggest change at the front is in the form of full-LED headlamp that is also found on Gixxer SF and bigger Gixxer SF 250. This new headlamp will prove to be quite a head-turner for the bike as it looks quite stylish. The indicators and mirror stalks are placed at their usual positions while the fuel tank and chrome-tipped exhaust canister are carried over from its faired sibling. A full-LED instrument cluster replaces the older unit on this Gixxer and displays all relevant information.

The engine powering the new motorcycle is also shared with the Gixxer SF and the power output remains the same. The 155-cc air-cooled SOHC engine generates 13.9 Bhp (14.1 PS) power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox and is a fuel-injected unit as opposed to the carburetted unit found on the outgoing model. The performance figures of the naked Gixxer 155 are expected to be a little bit better than its faired sibling as it has a kerb weight of 140 kg. This makes it 6 kg less than the Gixxer SF which has a kerb weight of 146 kg. However, the Gixxer SF will benefit from its faring that will give it better aerodynamics at higher speeds.

As ABS is now compulsory on all bikes above 125-cc displacement, the new Gixxer 155 also comes with this standard safety feature. However, it is a single-channel unit just like Gixxer SF. Unlike the Gixxer SF, the naked Gixxer 155 gets a regular handlebar and no clip-ons. The bike gets new tank faring extensions and split seats. Suzuki is offering the bike in three color schemes – black, grey, and blue.

This motorcycle now comes with dual disc brakes as standard while the fuel tank capacity is 12 liters. The Gixxer 155 has a ground clearance of 160 mm and the seat height is 795 mm. This is 5 mm less than the outgoing model. It gets telescopic forks up front and monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle challenges the likes of Yamaha FZ, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, and Honda CB Hornet 160R among others in the segment.
