Suzuki has issued a voluntary recall for the iconic Hayabusa superbike in India over a potential braking issue. According to reports, the brand has recalled 1,056 units of the superbike. This recall has been specifically issued for Hayabusa models constructed between March 2021 and September 2024.

The Suzuki Hayabusa bike is a value-for-money model. In the Indian market, the bike can be purchased at an ex-showroom price of INR 16.90 lakh. Owners who bought this model in this time frame will need to visit their nearest Suzuki service centers for an inspection. They can also check their bike’s status on the company’s official website through VIN.

Suzuki announced that it will reach out to owners personally to inform them about the recently issued recall to get this issue resolved as soon as possible. The company will not be charging any fees from buyers to fix the faulty parts.  According to the company, there has been an issue with the bike’s front brake lever, and as a result, it may become excessive with time and might come in contact with the accelerator. This contact is likely to increase braking distance and thereby can become hazardous.

The third-generation Suzuki Hayabusa is packed with Brembo Stylema calipers at the front. It draws power from a 1,340-cc inline four-cylinder motor that is tuned to churn out power of 190 bhp and torque of 142 Nm. For braking duties, the Suzuki Hayabusa has 260 mm discs at the rear and a 320 mm disc up at the front. As of now, the brand has not yet revealed the exact solution to rectify the faulty part or recall timeline, but it is expected to resolve this issue soon.
