Skoda Slavia is all set to replace Skoda Rapid sedan in the country

Skoda India will be commencing the deliveries of the Slavia in March this year. The same has been confirmed by Zac Hollis, Director, Sales & Marketing, Skoda India via a tweet. However, the official launch date of the new mid-size sedan has not been confirmed yet. 


Talking about the price, we can expect the upcoming Skoda Slavia to fall in the range of Rs 10 lakhs - Rs 14 lakhs (ex-showroom). Last month, the premium sedan was spotted on the flatbed. It was being assumed that it was a demo unit and was getting dispatched to dealerships for public display. The world premiere of Skoda Slavia took place last year in the country. The premium mid-size sedan is based on the MQB AO IN platform that is also shared with Kushaq. It will further be offered in three trims namely Active, Ambition, and Style. Feature-wise, Skoda Slavia will come equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 2-spoke steering wheel, Android Auto & Apple Carplay connectivity, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging pad, ventilated seat, an electric sunroof, and six airbags. The upcoming Skoda Slavia will be offered in a total of five color options namely Reflex Silver, Tornado Red, Crystal Blue, Candy White, and Carbon Steel.

Performance-wise, the Slavia comes equipped with two engines. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine churns out a top power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 178 Nm. The motor is further mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit, on the other hand, generates 148 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. Transmission duty here is taken care of by either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
