  • Carbon Steel color scheme was favoured the most by the buyers
  • Skoda Kushaq deliveries will start from July 12, 2021 in India

Skoda Kushaq was launched on June 28, 2021 at a starting price of Rs 10.49 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the Indian market. Now, we have learnt that the SUV has bagged over 2,000 bookings within one week of its launch in the country. The majority (40 percent) of the bookings are secured by the 1.0L TSI AT Ambition variant while Carbon Steel ranks at the top as far as color choices are concerned followed by white and orange. Skoda Kushaq rivals Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Harrier in the Indian market.

The test drives and deliveries of the 1.5L TSI variants will start a bit later but yet they have garnered 25 percent of the total bookings. Skoda dealers oozed confidence regarding the larger engine variants and said that they expect them to grab a larger chunk of overall bookings once the test drives commence. Furthermore, the dealers are providing the customers with a system generated ETA of their vehicle delivery as soon as the booking is made. Skoda Kushaq first deliveries will start from July 12, 2021. For those asking, the system generated delivery date involves multiple stages like current inventory with dealers, present backlog of orders, vehicles in transit and production work at the plant.

Skoda Kushaq was introduced in three trim levels namely Active, Ambition and Style. Some of the notable features in the SUV include two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control, two USB-C ports at front & rear, and a 25.40-cm touchscreen infotainment system with SmartLink technology and MySkoda Connect. The SUV is offered with two petrol engines namely 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI and 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI. The former develops top power 113 bhp while the latter belts out 147 bhp. The smaller 1.0L engine variants can be availed with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a new-generation 6-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5L TSI engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
