Skoda Auto will launch the all-new Kushaq on June 28th, 2021. The SUV will be offered with two turbo petrol engines. As per a rumour, the Czech automaker will introduce the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol mill from August 4, 2021, onwards. However, the 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit will be available from June 28 onwards. The deliveries of the SUV are likely to start from July 12, 2021.
Performance-wise, the 1.5-litre TSI engine will churn out 148 bhp power. While the 1.5-litre TSI petrol unit will produce a maximum power of 113 bhp. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
Recently, variant details of the Skoda Kushaq were leaked online. As per the leaked information, the SUV will be offered in a total of three trims - Active, Ambition, and Style. Both the entry-level Active and the mid-spec Ambient trims will come equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit. The former will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. While the latter will be sold with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The top-end Style variant will be offered with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines. The 1.0-litre unit can be availed with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre motor, on the other hand, can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.
Cosmetically, the upcoming Skoda Kushaq is based on the India-specific MQB-AO-IN platform. Cosmetically, it features a wide Skoda grille flanked by automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs. On the sides, the SUV features body cladding on the lower parts of the doors and around the wheel. The rear end boasts of wraparound LED tail-lights, a roof spoiler and a faux diffuser finished in silver. Furthermore, the cabin of the SUV comes equipped with a plethora of features. These include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, & wireless smartlink, a customizable 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, six speakers & a 50w subwoofer, among many others.
