Skoda Karoq was brought to India as a CBU unit with a premium price tag. The company initially brought 1000 units of Karoq to the Indian market. During the launch of the SUV, the Czech automaker had announced that it aims to sell a minimum of 1000 units during this tough time.

The 2020 Skoda Karoq is based on Volkswagen’s MQB A0 platform that also underpins other models such as Octavia, Kodiaq, and Volkswagen T-Roc. The model gets a bold and muscular stance. It is offered as a single fully-loaded variant. In terms of design, it gets full-LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels among others. Skoda has equipped the SUV with a plethora of interior features as well. Its safety kit comprises 9 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESC, Hill-Start Assist, front & rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.

Under the bonnet, the Karoq is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI mill mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. The engine churns out 150 bhp of power output with 250 Nm torque. Furthermore, it is offered in a total of six colour options namely Candy White, Magnetic Brown, Lava Blue, Magic Black, Brilliant Silver, and Quartz Grey. Currently, Skoda is working on Vision IN SUV that was recently spied doing test runs on Indian roads. The model is likely to be launched in the first quarter of the next year. Once launched, it will rival the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta in its segment.
