Skoda aims to have 30 new compact workshops across India by the end of 2021

Skoda India has introduced 'Compact Workshops' initiative in the country. The European brand aims to have 30 new compact workshops across India by the end of 2021. Skoda Compact Workshops are targeted towards all the non-metro sales facilities of the company with a minimum service facility of two bays. They will be connected to main dealership facilities. In fact, Skoda is planning to start operations in some new markets with this service-first concept of ‘Compact Workshops’ to instill confidence in potential customers.

Skoda Compact Workshops will be utilised for periodic maintenance services and general repairs which include inspection services, replacement of coolant, brake oil, ATF and brake disc or pad replacement. In addition, the customers can avail various minor repairs viz replacement of bulbs, wiper blades, car detailing and accessories fitment amongst others’ which don’t require specialized tools. Though the major repair works will only be carried out at the main workshop. The company claims that it has grown its network presence by almost 25 percent with the launch of the Kushaq SUV. It now has more than 170 customer touchpoints including sales and after-sales facilities in over 100 cities across India.

Mr. Zac Hollis, Brand Director – ŠKODA AUTO India, said, “2021 is marked as the year of growth for the ŠKODA brand in India. With the launch of KUSHAQ, there is a substantial growth in our volumes and despite the challenging environment, we have managed to have a really successful launch. Along with growing our volumes, enhancing the customer experience and our journey of customer-centricity is pivotal to our success in India. We have already introduced several initiatives on this front, and I am happy to announce the start of ‘ŠKODA Compact Workshops’. Our objective is to cater to the growing customer base and ensure that customers have a seamless experience with the ŠKODA brand.”
