The car is powered by a 240hp, 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine.

The company has launched its first convertible luxury SUV, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible in India. The car is priced at Rs 69.53 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and is powered by JLR’s new 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine, which first debuted in India on the Velar. Here, the motor makes 240hp and 340Nm, and power is channelled via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The company says it can hit 100kph in 8.1 seconds and can go on to hit a top speed of 217kph.

You can only buy the car in one fully-loaded HSE Dynamic variant. This version comes with adaptive LED headlights, a heads-up display, surround view camera, park assist and a Wi-Fi hotspot as part of the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. You also get gesture control to open/close the tail gate.

Because it’s a drop-top, this car features a reinforced monocoque chassis and door panels to ensure rigidity, since there’s no fixed roof anymore. The fabric drop-top can be operated electrically and it will retract in about 20 seconds, up to driving speeds of 48kph.
