Royal Enfield has announced the inauguration of two high-altitude authorized service centers in Himachal Pradesh.

Royal Enfield bikes and Himalayas have become an overemphasised cliché at this point. However, this does not stop the avid bikers of the nation to go on the almost ritualistic ride on a Royal Enfield to places in the Himalayas like Spiti, Lahaul, or Ladakh. The Royal Enfield bikes have become so ingrained in the tourist culture of these places that one can find more than a dozen bike rental services in either of the places. Despite all the ease of renting, a major missing piece in the experience was the lack of a good network of service centers of Royal Enfield in the region. Now the brand has tended to that concern as well as the company recently announced the inauguration of two high altitude authorised service centers in Himachal Pradesh. The first one is on the massively popular Manali-Leh highway (Keylong) leading to Ladakh and the other one is in Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of the Spiti Valley.

The service stations in Keylong and Kaza will bring a huge relief to the riders who scale the passes on the saddle of their beloved Royal Enfield as now they will have official support in the remote regions of Spiti on their way to Ladakh. The unexpected problems faced by a huge number of bikers on this route will now have an authorised solution. The sheer volume of bikers who take this route will ensure that the two service centres of the brand will always have their hands full. Before the opening of these stations, the nearest authorised service point for Royal Enfield was located in Manali. This will ensure that the RE riders will take on the Manali-Leh route with more confidence and lesser hassles. With the opening of these station, the tally of authorised service centres of RE in Himachal Pradesh goes up to 13 and to 943 all over the country.

Speaking on the inauguration of these new service centres, Shaji Koshy the head of India business at Royal Enfield stated,

“The Himalayas has been the spiritual home to Royal Enfield, and for over 60 years, riding enthusiasts have traversed these mountains on our motorcycles. Over the last few years, we have seen an increase in the number of people riding to the Himalayas on Royal Enfields. With the expansion of our service network in Himachal Pradesh at Kaza and Keylong, we have ensured that riders get adequate support even at high altitudes and challenging terrains. With places like Leh, Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti getting featured on every rider’s bucket list, these service centres will cater to riders travelling to Leh region from any of the two routes – via Manali or Shimla,”

That the new service centres of the brand are located in remote area does not mean that they will provide few facilities as the company has stated that the new premises offer full-service facilities with 4 service bays and a crew of fully trained and authorized Royal Enfield service personnel.
