Motorcycle modifications are nothing new to us but Royal Enfield Modifications always excites. We all love motorcycle customization for one sees innovation in terms of performance tuning and design. Royal Enfield 650 Twins have become quite a favourite for modifications for the motorcycle enthusiasts. Every now and then, we see a cool Royal Enfield 650 customization arrive on the market and they take our breath away. In November 2018, Chennai based motorcycle maker launched Interceptor 650 and Continental 650. Quietly, the 650 twins are becoming an attractive choice for motorcycle enthusiasts to try out their luck in making excellent customization. So why 650 twins? Simply, because it offers the right balance between form and function. It’s difficult to muck up the customization of the twins unless someone has a bad understanding of design.

Delhi-based Neev Motorcycles are no stranger to Royal Enfield modifications, earlier they created “Y2 650” based on the 650 twins. This time, their new modification dubbed “Typhoon” is winning rave reviews on the social media. Neev had added cafe racer styling elements on a Sportster, the term ‘Sportser’ was brought into the normal lexicon by Harley Davidson. A motorcycle lover can easily recognize it as an Interceptor 650 because the central chassis is untouched by the rendering.

Highlights of the customs made Typhoon 650 is the fenders, rear number plate assembly, bench seat and belly pan. Typhoon comes in Black/Gloss blue with added accessories like sump guard, crash guards, USB bar-end mirrors, LED lighting and obviously cafe racer handlebars to give it the cafe racer look. Neev made the wheels small and shod with thick-walled tyres in the fashion of Sportster motorcycle like the Harley Davidson forty-eight range of bikes.

The build cost comes around to Rs 1.65 lakhs discounting the donor motorcycle’s cost to make the customized Typhoon 650. Considering the 2020MY BS6-compliant Interceptor and Continental GT (ex-showroom) prices begin at Rs 2.65 lakhs and Rs 2.80 lakhs respectively, we can assume that the total modified cost will come to around Rs 4.4 lakhs.

The motorcycle's performance will remain unchanged. Equipped with a 648cc air/oil-cooled SOHC parallel twin engine, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 churns out 47bhp power and 52Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch.
