SRK Designs renders a Classic 650, Hopes that a Classic 650 is there as Royal Enfield is planning to launch a Himalayan 650 soon

Royal Enfield motorcycles sell in huge numbers across the world with a cult following among the new and the older generation alike. Being in production since 1901, Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle company still in production which is a remarkable feat in itself. Thr reasons for its continuous success are many: Affordability, Unique engine sound and Classic design being the key factors. Royal Enfield motorcycles are more reliable while their minimalist infused design makes them one of the most popular motorcycle brands in the world. The bikemaker hasn’t yet reached the aura of say German or the Italian motorcycle giants but it’s on the path to greatness. One example of progress path was the participation in EICMA 2018 where it unveiled the Concept KX. The Concept KX Blobber is a beautiful bike with its long, low silhouette and sweeping lines reminiscent of the 30’s era of Enfield design.

The Concept KX is still a concept but it showed the glorious design potential of the Royal Enfield designers without worrying about the affordability aspect. It served as an muse for the other designers looking for inspiration in modifying the Royal Enfield bikes. SRK Design, a designing firm that specializes in vehicle rendering just came up with KX inspired Classic 650.

Currently, the company offer Classic in two versions - 350cc and 500cc. The 650cc range comprises of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Rumours are swirling in the market about a new 650 Himalayan but nothing about 650 Classic.

The concept takes the design of the Classic with a little help from KX Concept. The rendered Classic 650 has the cantilever saddle hugging the rear fender’s curve like a bobber. The handlebar is much longer in the rendered classic motorcycle than the actual Classic. The frame is slightly longer in length and engine compartment is blacked out owing to the presence of larger engine.

The chances of introduction of Classic 650 can’t be ruled out in the future considering there is an increasing demand for new generation motorcycles. Royal Enfield name evokes the feeling of nostalgia among the bike users and Classic 650 could be a surprise hit. We can imagine how 650 Classic will look with SRK designs rendered Classic 650.
