Renault India has launched the BS6 Triber AMT at an introductory price of Rs 6.18 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. It has been offered in three trims: RxL, RxT and RxZ. The base RxE grade does not the AMT gearbox. The bookings for the automatic variants of the MPV has already started at all the company authorized dealerships across the country. In addition, Renault Triber AMT BS6 can also be booked via Renault's official website and My Renault App. The test drive vehicles have been dispatched to the dealerships as well.
The styling and features of Renault Triber AMT are similar to the respective manual variants. The range-topping variant features LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, power adjustable wing mirrors, keyless entry and go and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and phone-based navigation as standard. As far as safety features are concerned, it gets four airbags, a rear camera, ABS with EBD, a rear defogger and wiper. Renault Triber AMT's primary highlight is the flexible seating configuration which is standard across all the trims. The driver can customize the MPV into a 3-seater as well as 7-seater vehicle while at the same time, increasing its boot capacity from 84 litres to 1000 litres.
The Triber AMT is powered by the same naturally aspirated BS6 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine which generates maximum power output of 72bhp and peak torque performance of 96Nm. It has been linked to a 5-speed AMT gearbox, while mileage figures are not available yet. The manual variants with BS4 engine had an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20kmpl. The company is also working on a more powerful iteration of the MPV with the same 1.0L motor, albeit with a turbocharger. It is expected to develop 95bhp of top power. The price of the AMT variants is nearly Rs 40,000 more than their manual counterparts. Renault Triber BS6 AMT will directly take on the Datsun GO+, which features a first-in-segment CVT gearbox while priced in a range of Rs 4.22-6.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) with seating capacity of seven adults.
