Renault Kiger SUV in India

Renault India's CEO, Venkatram Mamillapalle, unveiled in December 2019 that this year, probably in the second half, Renault will be launching a sub-4-meter SUV (codenamed HBC). A paper has now been released, according to which Kiger will be the Renault new compact sub-4-m SUV brand.

As per the paper, it was clear that in the country the company has labelled the SUV with Kiger's name. The word Kiger comes from the U.S. form of horse breed. This trademark will be registered when Renault India revealed that it will enter the market later this year in the sub-four-meter SUV segment.

As of now, not many information on the Renault Kiger (HBC) are available, however, it is expected to come with a petrol-only engine as Renault India will discontinue the diesel line-up prior to the BS6 emission standards, which will be effective from April 2020.

The Renault Triber turbo-petrol model, as reported earlier, is in work and will soon be introduced on the Indian market.
