Renault Kiger has been developed and produced in India for Indian customers before being taken globally.

Renault India has launched the most-awaited Kiger sub-compact SUV at an introductory price of Rs 5.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 9.55 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. Bookings for the SUV will start from today onwards. Interested buyers can book Renalut Kiger at a token amount of Rs 11,000 either online through the website or by directly visiting the authorized dealership across the country. The test drives for the SUV are also available at the showrooms.




The all-new Kiger will be offered in four variants - RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. In terms of design, the new SUV features tri-octa LED pure vision headlamps, C-shaped signature LED tail-lamps, shark-fin antenna, silver rear skid plate, diamond-cut alloy wheels and satin silver roof bars among many others.

Renault has equipped the Kiger with a plethora of interior features. These include an 8-inch floating multimedia screen, 7-inch reconfigurable TFT cluster, center console, glove box with a storage capacity of 7.5-litres, air-purifier, and multi-sense drive modes. Furthermore, it also comes with five exclusive personalization packs - SUV, Attractive, Essential, Smart, and Smart Plus. The safety kit comprises of two front airbags along with the two side airbags. Besides these, the two front seats and the two rear side seats come fitted with three-point seatbelts while the rear middle seat offers two-point seatbelts.

Under the hood, the Kiger houses two petrol engines. The base variant gets a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that churns out a maximum power of 72 bhp and a peak torque of 96 Nm. The engine can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox along with 5-speed Easy R AMT as an option. The top-end variant draws power from a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that generates 100 bhp power. The unit generates 160 Nm torque while being linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 152 Nm torque with an X-Tronic CVT gearbox. 

Suspension duties are handled by McPherson strut with lower triangle & coil spring, anti-roll bar & traverse arm upfront, and Torsion beam axle towards the rear end. As for color options, the SUV is offered in a total of six colors - Caspian Blue, Radiant Red, Moonlight Silver, Planet Grey, Ice Cool White, and Mahogany Brown.
