Renault India will be launching the Duster 1.3L turbo petrol in August 2020 in the country. Being showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in February, it will be sold alongside the 1.5L petrol engine variants in the Indian market. Though, the 1.3L turbocharged engine which generates top power of 153bhp and peak torque of 250Nm, will be offered only with the mid and top-spec trims. The BS6 compliant 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine is already on offer with Nissan Kicks. The bookings for Renault Duster 1.3L turbo petrol are expected to commence shortly.
As far as exterior design is concerned, Renault Duster 1.3L turbo petrol will be identical to the current model except for a handful of minor updates. The only changes upfront will be in the form of red accents on the grille and fog lamp housings. At the rear end, there will be less cladding while the Duster emblem and Duster lettering at the tailgate will be finished in red. The roof rails will be thicker as compared to the standard Duster SUV. Inside the cabin, it will come loaded with the same features as the regular Duster such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully automatic climate control and cooled glovebox.
If we talk about the safety features, the turbo petrol variants of the SUV will come loaded with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed alert as standard. The company could also offer Reverse Parking Camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill-Start Assist as optional features. The BS6 compliant 1.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will be linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while a CVT gearbox will be available as optional. Renault Duster 1.3L turbo petrol price is expected to start at Rs 12 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
