The carmaker has revised prices of all its locally-assembled models on sale here. The automaker intends to pass on the benefits of the upcoming GST rates to customers before they kick in.
The reduction in prices ranges between 2 percent and 9 percent, and depend on the the tax structure and local body taxes (currently in effect) in different parts of the country. The revision will range from ₹1.2 lakh for the car such as the CLA to ₹7 lakh for cars like the Mercedes-Maybach S500.
The Government’s GST is yet to roll out, and the early price-cut is a strategic move to keep sales going - luxury cars are expected to become easier on the pocket under the new tax structure. These new rates for Merc's locally-assembled cars are for a limited time only and could change after the official implementation of GST in July.
