Porsche is all set to enter the pre-owned car segment in the country. Having said that, the brand will open its first ‘Porsche Approved’ pre-owned car store in Kochi on June 8. With this, the German automaker will join Volkswagen’s Das WeltAuto and Audi Approved Plus programs. Furthermore, the brand aims to strengthen its one-stop solution to buy, sell or exchange certified pre-owned cars and enhance its customer base in India.
Talking about the Porsche Approved program in detail, it will majorly focus on providing competitive pricing for the pre-owned cars along with insurance, genuine accessories, and financial support to its customers. Besides these, the automaker will also offer service and warranty packages. Through this new initiative, it will become easier to own a Porsche.
Moving on, Porsche sells a range of luxury sports cars and SUVs in the country. The list comprises 718, 911, Cayenne, and Macan. All these models fall in the price range of Rs 69.98 lakhs - Rs 1.63 crore. At present, the automaker comes with a customer base of over 3500. Porsche will be sharing more details regarding this initiative during the launch.
Currently, Volkswagen has around 120 Das WeltAuto centres across the country. Moving on, VW has sold close to 3000 cars in 2019 and around 10000 in 2020. This did not stop here as the number doubled in the year 2021. Porsche successfully sold 20000 units through its pre-owned car centers. Audi India, on the other hand, is ramping up its pre-owned car business ‘Audi approved Plus’. The aim is to enable buyers to upgrade without spending on a new luxury car. Lastly, the company also aims to start at least 20 centers by the end of this year.
