Porsche has launched the 718 Cayman GT4 RS in the country at Rs 2.54 crore (ex-showroom). The flagship model sits at the top of the 718 line-up. Besides that, it is the only model in the Cayman coupe body style. The new Cayman GT4 RS is the track-focused version of the Cayman.
In terms of design, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS gets an aggressive look. It features a carbon-fibre bonnet with NACA ducts, a large fixed-wing, new rear air vents, and an adjustable front diffuser. Furthermore, the new sportscar features lightweight carbon-fibre bucket seats. Also, it is 35 kg lighter than the Cayman GTS. Moving on, the RS retains the GT 4’s straps for door handles and a lighter rear windscreen.
Performance-wise, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS draws its power from the same mid-mounted 4.0-litre, 6-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine that does the duty on the GT4. But in the new model, the motor produces 493 bhp power and 450 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The vehicle comes with a capacity to sprint from 0-100 kmph in a mere 3.4 seconds. It can further achieve a top speed of 315 kmph.
Furthermore, the GT4 RS comes equipped with an RS-specific suspension setup. In terms of the brake, the car gets large 408mm rotors upfront and 380mm discs towards the rear.
